Ending With A Big Lie

Obama has ended his presidential re-election campaign with one of the biggest LIES I’ve ever heard him tell. We all know he has spent more money than there IS and gotten nothing for it. That our unemployment numbers are as high as they’ve EVER been; that MILLIONS are out of work and are losing their cars, houses, and other things that are important to them: that the real estate market is DOWN; people are SUFFERING from the effect of his ignorant policies and he DID NOT "save" the auto industry. GM is still on the brink of bankruptcy He says he created 5 MILLION jobs. WHERE? WHEN? That might sound good when he says it, but it's not enough to even KEEP UP with the birth rate. That in the midst of a big oil crisis, he has made policies GUARANTEEING we will be dependent on people who HATE us for our oil, for years to come. Then he runs an ad saying, “We’ve tried our way and it has worked!” WORKED? When and WHERE? I haven’t seen a single idea he’s tried that worked (If anybody can show me one I’ll be grateful). “We tried their way and it DIDN’T work.” WHEN and WHERE did they EVER “try their way? He shut Republicans OUT  of every important decision. He says, “We won two wars in the Middle East.” WHEN? WHERE? We RAN from both Iran and Afghanistan! Then he said, “We brought our troops home.” Right; we did it by “running for the hills” while the terrorists were blowing up our consulate and MURDERING our diplomats. Obama LIES bigger and bigger every day. I thought he was a FOOL when he claimed to be able to “lower the sea level,” but nobody ever took that seriously. I’ll tell you what, folks’ if you give him another four years to screw us even more, you’re FOOLS and deserve the biggest FOOL to ever occupy the White House and what that will bring you.. Synthetics Reduce Friction

Synthetic oil is the FIRST improvement in lubrication for the automobile since cleaning additives. It simply reduces the FRICTION that is the ENEMY of movement. That friction is the CAUSE of ALL wear in your engine and inhibits its performance. All synthetic oil will reduce friction, but there is only ONE “full synthetic” on the market today, that reduces it better. Some CLAIM to be “full synthetics,” but notice nobody will offer you an oil that will perform for you for 25,000 miles, but AmsOil. All they can offer is up to 15,000 miles. That’s the key. The rest of them are simply PARA synthetics. That means they only have SOME synthetics in their FOSSIL oil. AmsOil has THIRTY YEARS headstart on every synthetic now on the market (except the one that copied them within two years of the introduction of AmsOil to the automotive market.

The reason AmsOil works better than all the others is it IS a “full synthetic” and reduces friction to a higher degree than the others because it IS a “full synthetic.” AmsOil’s synthetic oil is “the FUTURE of lubrication.” It might take a few years for everybody to realize it, but one day NOBODY will use “fossil oil” in their engine, or anything else. You need to “get on the bandwagon.” Just CHANGING to AmsOil saves you about $200 (a year) the year you change (4 or 5 quarts and two filters vs. 40 quarts and 8 filters in 25,000 miles), plus all the other savings you get with synthetic oil including improved mileage (important with toady’s high gasoline prices), longer engine life, and easier starts (NO “dry starts,” ever because synthetic oil “clings” to engine parts). AmsOil use allows “dead of winter starts) like in summer and NO “vapor locks” in summer). (Just common sense)

Misplaced Priorities

Many Americans claim they have “other priorities” than keeping track of what their politicians are doing to them. Many keep track of EVERY MOVE of their favorite football or basketball player. They know how many times that player has the ball in his hands and what he does with it each time and they can recite the figures to you ad nauseum from memory,. But they don’t have time to know what their politicians are doing to them. Thus, those politicians are screwing them royally every day and these Americans don’t even know it. So they vote those politicians back into office, time and time again and wonder why their money is worth less every day. They wonder why their “tax bite” is getting bigger and bigger every year as politicians tax them more and more to pay for their “giveaway programs.” They wonder why they can't seem to do ANYTHING these days without going to a bureaucrat, "hat in hand," and ask permission to do things they have always had the RIGHT to do without question.

My own SON is more interested in how many bucks he can make than in what Obama does to him with his socialistic policies (which is okay, but he should do both). We have the opportunity tomorrow to do what the Russian people DIDN’T do when Vladmir Lenin was solidifying his power. We can vote Barack Obama OUT and GET RID of him. Will we? Only time will tell. But if we vote to keep our own “Vladmir Lenin” in office tomorrow, how many years will we have to suffer under a socialist government that sucks all that is good out of us as the Russian people have suffered under 75 years of a socialist (Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics) government that remains until this day SUPPOSEDLY under a “no longer communist government” with the SAME PEOPLE running things now as then who SAY “they’re no longer communists.”

We need to WAKE UP and get these socialists (Democrats) out of office and take our country BACK from those who would ENSLAVE us. THINK, people! Do you WANT a socialist government that sucks the good out of every man and woman who becomes  dependent on government for their very daily bread and thus MUST “follow orders” as to how to live their lives? Do you WANT to have to live life as some nameless, faceless bureaucrat tells you to live it? Or do you want to be free to make your own decisions and have the INCENTIVE to do your best? Socialism DESTROYS incentive because who wants to work for anything if the GOVERNMENT will take it away from them to pay for somebody else's needs? The only problem is, it only "takes care of them" at a SUBSISTENCE level. All while those who are still able and WILLING to WORK under these conditions pay the bills (as long as they continue to work under a system that robs them). Soon they will figure out that they are BEING suckered and robbed and will join the ranks of those wanting the GOVERNMENT to "take care of them" and there will BE no money for the GOVERNMENT to use to pay the bills for everybody. The Standard to Which All Others Are Judged

That’s what Bobby Unser (3-time Indy 500 Winner driving for another oil company) says, anyway: "AMSOIL is the Best Lubricant made, the Standard to which all others are judged," Some people like to say other oils are at least as good, but they’re not. AmsOil has at least 30 years head start on all but one oil company in terms of research and development (That company was three years behind AmsOil in entering the synthetic oil market), and THAT company's oils, regardless of the claims in their cleverly-worded advertising, are not better than AmsOil, even if they DO sell more because of their massive advertising budget and clever copywriters. They SAY “Nobody Outperforms Our Oils,” and that might be true, but that’s awfully hard to prove without using both oils in a controlled test which has not, as far as I know, yet been performed. And won't be. They’re cleverly NOT saying “our oil is the best.” Just that “nobody is better.” Which, again, cannon be proved without a detailed scientific study. Don’t go by the info in my “lubedealers.com” web site. That site is abandoned and can’t be changed. Go to raythomas101.com and use the address and phone number shown elsewhere in that site. What People Say About Ams/Oil

“Amsoil is a name well known amongst automotive and motor sports enthusiasts; however, what many people don’t realize is that Amsoil is also a long standing direct selling company. The company was founded by Albert Amatuzio, a Lt. Colonel and jet figher pilot in the Air Force. Amatuzio recognized the important role synthetic lubrication played in keeping a high performance, million dollar jet fighter in the air. Knowing that these same properties would be invaluable in automotive applications, Amatuzio set out to create a synthetic formulation for automobiles. He launched his first commercially sold product in 1970, which led to the creation of the Amsoil company. In 1972 Amsoil became the first synthetic motor oil to achieve American Petroleum Institute specifications. (Network Marketing Online)

Merry Christmas Again!

You can’t say it often enough. I said it the other day, and now I say it again. “The PC Police” can take it and stick it. This day is dedicated to the birth of Jesus Christ, whether or not you believe in him. It’s the religion of Christians, and reference to it should NEVER “offend” anyone. I am not offended by reference to the symbols of other religions, and I should not be. And members of other religions should not be “offended” by references to someone else’s. Especially Muslims, whose “Holy Book” tells them to KILL anybody who does not believe exactly the same way they do. Today’s Christianity does not, even if they can find an obscure passage in the Old Testament that might be read in such a way that some people might think it does. In any case, it is not a “guiding principle” to Christians. Some non-Christians seem to think they can stop Christians from making reference to their religion by wishing people “Merry Christmas” on this day. They’re wrong, even if some liberal courts disagree. They misread the Constitution to say that government and religion should be separate. That’s wrong. There is NOTHING in the Constitution saying that. So I say again, “Merry Christmas to all!” No matter what your religion. This will be the only post today, as I will be spending time with my family. (Just common sense)

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Some people are “offended” by the words, “Merry Christmas." They can go to hell. I will not accede to the demands of the “PC Police” and say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.” Why should I care if atheists, some Jews, Islamics, and followers of other religions don’t like it when I wish them a Merry Christmas? This is a country FOUNDED by Christians and, in which most powerful posts are still held by people who at least SAY they’re Christians. If that offends some people, too bad! I don’t care. Most Jews don’t “get offended” by it, and they don’t try and kill Christianity in a Christian country. So I say, “Merry Christmas,” people, and anybody who gets “offended” by this can go to hell. What's Stopping You?

Synthetic oil is the FIRST improvement over fossil oil, EVER. It costs you less PER MILE than does fossil oil if you can bring yourself to ignore the “3,000 Mile Oil Change Myth” fossil oil makers promote and not change your oil for 25,000 miles. It won’t hurt your car, and AmsOil has an insurance policy to buy you a new engine if our oil ever does (They’ve never had to pay a claim). Unlike fossil oil, it clings to the parts so there’s NEVER a “dry start” at ANY time of the year (dry starts are the biggest factor in engine wear). Your car starts like in summer in the dead of winter because synthetic oil doesn’t “gum up” at below zero temps like fossil oil. That’s easier on your battery and IT lasts longer.

Neither does it “vapor lock” in hot summer because it has a much wider temperature range in which it can operate (minus 60 to plus 430 degrees). With its “super slipperiness, there is less RESISTANCE to movement with it, meaning your engine does more work with less effort. This makes your car’s engine last about 50% longer and with less gasoline use. So what’s stopping you from using it? AmsOil is the FIRST viable synthetic oil for automotive use. It was invented by a jet pilot who saw no reason it couldn’t work. It did. We proved we COULD market a synthetic oil, so now EVERYBODY has an oil they CALL a “synthetic” in their line. But we have 30 years headstart on ALL of them in terms of research and development

We had the FIRST synthetic transmission fluid. Nobody, not even the one that claims to be “the oil that changed oil” can claim more than 7,500 miles, which tells me it’s only a semi-synthetic. AmsOil IS “the oil that changed oil.” There’s no reason why you SHOULDN’T use this oil. So why are you waiting? It is only about a $50 investment to change over and that lasts you 25,000 miles. I’ve been driving a 14-year-old car that has never let me down because of a lubrication problem until another driver killed it by making an illegal left turn in front of me. That car has never had a quart of fossil oil in it since I’ve owned it, and that is since it was five years old. (Just common sense)

Best for Fleets

Mercy Regional Ambulance Service in Benton, Illinois has 22 ambulances and 6 cars. They need to be "ready to roll" at a moment's notice, no matter what the weather. Before they switched to AmsOil synthetic oil, it took their chief mechanic a lot of time every month to keep them running. "These engines, especially the 6.0 liter, are prone to injector problems along with EGR valve problems." About a year ago they switched to AmsOil synthetic lubricants and Dustin Larkin (their chief mechanic) says "My expenses on parts are down 70% from 2007 and overall downtime is down 80%!" In 2007, Larkin changed a total of 85 injectors on the ambulances. He also had to change at least four injectors per unit. Each ambulance averages 100,000 miles per year. Two 2006 models have more than 250,000 miles on them. Larkin said, "Sometimes ambulances run three or four days without shutoff in real hot or cold weather. That's hard on any equipment." They now change oil at 20,000 miles and have had to change only TWO injectors in the last 10 months. That's a hefty savings for any fleet. Using synthetic lubricants can mean a similar savings for ANY fleet, or any private vehicle. The savings on just the cost of the oil and filters alone can be $250 a vehicle per year when you look at it as "cost per mile," rather than cost per quart. That's the difference between 40 quarts of fossil oil and 8 filters (if you change oil every 3,000 miles) and four or five quarts of synthetic oil (depending on your engine capacity) and two filters (the first fill requires a filter change because synthetic oil cleans out the engine very quickly). (Source: Action News)

Synthetic Oil Myths

There are many myths being told yet about synthetic oil, mostly by makers of fossil oil, and repeated by mechanics and others who do not know what they're talking about. They just accept what they're told at face value and pass it along, with nothing behind it except the lies being told about synthetic oil to keep people from changing over, which would seriously reduce their business if it happened. Every time I talk to someone about changing to synthetic oil I hear again one of these "old saws," none of which are true. Now I hear about one oil company, one which copied the "leader" in synthetic the originator of synthetic lubricants for automotive use), CLAIMING to be selling "pure synthetic oils. They have three levels: one that claims 5,000 miles, the next claming 7,500 miles, and the third claiming 15,000 mile drain periods. What they really are is "para-synthetics ("synthetic blends") and don't dare claim the 25,000 miles you get from the leader. This article contains just a few of the more popular myths (lies) about synthetic oil. (Ray Thomas 101)

The "3,000 Mile Myth"

How many times have you been told to "change your oil every 3,000 miles' with the unsaid threat that something bad might happen to your engine if you don't? That's what I've heard all my life, but I've never done it. And nothing bad ever happened to my engine because of poor lubrication. So why should I do it? Because "conventional wisdom" says I must. Unfortunately, "conventional wisdom" is usually wrong. The "3,000 mile myth" is a scam to increase sales of oil. That's it. The California Waste Management Board has launched a campaign to "Break the 3,000 mile myth, (Ray Thomas 101)

Your Car Can Last Longer

The biggest problem you have in driving your car around is friction. See the article about that on this blog. Synthetic oil significantly reduces friction in addition to giving you better gas mileage, fewer oil changes, NO "dry starts" ever (because synthetic oil "clings" to engine parts rather than falling down into the oil pan as fossil oils do. It starts as easily on the coldest winter days as in summer because it does not "gum up" at below zero temperatures as "fossil oils" do. It's liquid down to 60 below and up to 410 degrees hot. So no "vapor locks," either. Rocket ships and jet planes can't operate without synthetic oil because of the wide range of temperatures they must withstand. Fossil oils can't do that. If you could do ONE thing to save hundreds, even thousands of dollars on car maintenance while making it last longer and make fewer trips to the mechanic; it would be to convert to synthetic oil. But not just any oil. Other oils would be better than fossil oils, but AmsOil is the ORIGINAL synthetic lubricant for automotive use. Now that AmsOil proved it could be done, EVERYBODY has an oil out they call "synthetic." But so far, none are "pure" synthetic. The best they have done is a "para-synthetic" good for about 15,000 miles. Pure synthetic can be identified by the 25,000 miles between oil changes promise. AmsOil has more than 30 years "head start on the others in research and development.

A Good Thing to Have Around

Synthetic oil products are a lot more handy to have around than you'd expect. One time I flooded out under a railroad bridge. I climbed out, opened my hood, and sprayed "MP" (AmsOil Metal Protector) into the distributor cap and watched the water crawl away. Then I got back in and drove away. Another time I left a wrench on the ground in the back yard while working on my AmsOil race car. It stayed out there all winter and I didn't find it until spring. It was unrusted and in good condition because I had sprayed it with "MP" before I started using it. I keep one spray can of MP in the car and one at home. Any time anything starts moving roughly, I spray it with MP and have no more trouble. When I first bought my present car, the driver's door lock was "sticky." It was hard to open or close. I gave it a spritz of MP and never had another minute's trouble. Same with the lock on the front door of our new house. MP is less that $5, and I've used it a lot. (AmsOil Dealer)

...And in the Hot Country, Too

Below is an item about AmsOil's racing team dominating in the "cold country." Synthetic lubricants work superlatively down in Florida, too. Maybe it's some "left-over" advantage AmsOil gets from MP (Metal Protector), a top selling AmsOil product (It does the same as other light oils, but does it better and it is also an excellent metal protector). The picture above shows one of the Team AmsOil boats winning a race. But they weren't finished winning. "The POPRA races were held on were combined to determine the final finish positions. During Wednesday's race, Team AmsOil dominated on the 6.8-mile, rough water course, winning in the P-1 class and the overall. (There were three classes racing on the course at the same time.) The next POPRA race was held on Saturday on a smaller, 4.8-mile course that featured tighter turns. Team AmsOil once again dominated the P-1 class and the overall. The two first place finishes established Team AmsOil as the POPRA World Champion in the P-1 class."

"Sno-X" Knows Synthetic Oil

They know all about synthetic oil up in the "cold country," the area for which synthetic lubricants were invented. Temps in the "North country" reach levels that fossil oils can't withstand, just as they do in outer space or in the upper atmosphere where jets operate. You can make a synthetic that will withstand ANY temperature. It just takes money. That used by jets and rockets in outer space can cost as much as $25,000 an ounce! It doesn't take that much for automotive uses, even in "cold country." But this article in "Snow-X" should end any discussion over whether or not they work. "Less than five days before the start of the 16th Annual AMSOIL Duluth National Snocross, the pre-season press got things right when it comes to expecting a banner year from Team AMSOIL. The November 2007 issue of Sno-X Magazine arrived in mail boxes just five days before the start of 2007-2008 World PowerSports Association’s season opener in Duluth, Minn. Gracing the cover was Team AMSOIL/Scheuring Speed Sports veteran rider Dennis 'D.J.' Eckstrom. Eckstrom, a two-time winner of the AMSOIL Duluth National, was highlighted by the caption: 'D.J. Eckstrom: Ready to take the points in 2008.' Team owner Steve Scheuring is also featured inside the magazine with a Q&A section, as well as his monthly 'The Original Independent' article. A Self-Created "Problem"

Should we "shy away" from nuclear power as a means toward "clean energy?" Not according to those who study this phenomena. According to the experts, we are exposed to more radiation using "coal-fired" power production than from nuclear power production. Environmentalists have made much about "Three-Mile Island" and "Chernobyl," but the truth is, there has been NO "nuclear accident" in THIS COUNTRY that has injured or killed a single soul. and that includes "Three-Mile Island." You may say, "He markets synthetic oil so why should I believe him?" Actually, I don't care where you get your synthetic oil. Just use it. Most of that on the market today is "partial synthetic," but any synthetic usage will help, not only you, but our dependence on foreign oil, too. AmsOil has thirty years head start on research and development, but there are many other brands out there you can use. I'd like for you to use AmsOil, but whatever brand you use, just USE it. You'll save money while you're helping reduce our dependence on foreign oil, most of which is coming from our enemies. (Ray Thomas 101,)

Times, They Are A-changin"

In 1974, AmsOil was only two years old, and destined to shake up the oil industry like never before. It was hard to market synthetic oils. "Fossil oil" manufacturers laughed at them and their contention that synthetic oil was a "breakthrough" that would eventually obsolete fossil oils. These manufacturers spread lies about synthetic oils, while feverishly trying to copy AmsOil's success in the marketplace. AmsOil used "person-to-person" marketing similar to that used by the most successful marketing company in the nation, Amway. They ignored the "person-to-person" aspect of Al's marketing scheme and tried to sell it by mass marketing through their usual outlets, gas stations and parts houses, simply putting it on the shelves and not explaining why $5 a quart, against $1 a quart or less for fossil oil was less expensive in the long run. They couldn't figure out, and thus couldn't explain why a customer should look at the MILEAGE cost, not the cost per quart. Four or five quarts over 25,000 miles versus 40 quarts required to replace the oil every 3,000 miles, plus eight oil filters would cost the customer significantly MORE over 25,000 miles while making the engine last longer. Then there is all that lost time while waiting for someone to change your oil or the time it takes to do it yourself every 3,000 miles. Is your time worth money? All this oil changing costs the customer more than $250 over 25,000 miles, PLUS the time it takes to change oil over and over eight times. Source: Ray Thomas 101

Personal Maintenance Timeout

In May, 2005, they took my heart out and played with it on a table for a while. Then they put it back in and "gave me a jumpstart." I had four arteries significantly blocked, one 100%. Since then, I've had abdominal surgery and arterial surgery in my legs. Not unexpectedly I lost track of this blog and just today found it again. I will soon be posting more information about the reasons why you should be using synthetic lubricants for automotive use, and for many other uses, too. These are "breakthrough products" and if just 20% of Americans used them in place of "fossil oils," we could significantly reduce our dependence on foreign oil sources, some of which hate our guts and like to do what it takes to make sure we "pay through the nose" for our oil.

The Oil That Really "Changed Oil"

Copyright 2005 By Ray Thomas

I get really disgusted when I see the ads a certain oil company is running claiming to make "the oil that changed oil." Their motto really ought to be "the oil that copied the real thing."

THE OIL THAT REALLY CHANGED OIL

I won't name this company because anybody who has been paying attention knows this company was the "first on the bandwagon" to copy them when AmsOil created the oil that really changed oil in the early seventies.

JETS AND ROCKETS MUST USE SYNTHETICS!

Al Amatuzio, a former jet pilot, noted that jet airplanes and rocket ships used in outer space could not operate on "fossil oil" (oil whose origin was the dinosaur's remains rotting in the ground). The temperature range required was way too wide to use it. Lubricants had to be invented that could operate at a much wider temperature range than was possible with dinosaur fossil oil.

Enter synthetic oil. Synthetic oils and other lubricants could be manufactured to custom needs, where fossil oils could not. All it took was money. Some of the lubricants used in outer space cost $25,000 an ounce. But it was necessary to spend this money to get anything that would work.

AMSOIL INVENTED WORKABLE AUTOMOTIVE SYNTHETIC LUBES

Al wondered why nobody had come up with a lubricant using this technology for automobiles. Truth is, the Nazis during WWII tried, but we won the war before they could perfect it. Had we not, we'd all be speaking German now. So Al set out to make an oil that had the proper additives to allow its use in automobiles, and succeeded. He introduced AmsOil to the world in 1972 and the world took notice.

THEY JUST LIED ABOUT AMSOIL

Most oil companies satisfied themselves by telling the most outrageous and false stories about synthetic oils, hoping to dissuade people from using them. One of the first lies was that synthetic oil would void your warranty. Actually, AmsOil is a S.A.E. approved lubricant that outdoes everything asked of it to obtain such a rating. Another was that AmsOil would destroy your engine because of those "unheard of" drain intervals.

OTHERS SIMPLY COPIED THEM

One oil company did something different. They simply copied AmsOil by coming up with a para-synthetic they called a synthetic. But they made a mistake; they formulated theirs so as to be incompatible with fossil oils. Which means to use it, you had to drain and remove every vestige of your fossil oil out of the car before you could put it in your engine. This slowed the acceptance of their imitation synthetic oil for years, until they got wise and reformulated it.

PRETENDING AMSOIL DIDN'T EXIST

Ever since AmsOil's first year, this company has been pretending AmsOil didn't exist, claiming that all the advances in synthetic oil technology were theirs. They weren't.

They recently introduced three oils to the market, all claiming to be synthetic; all claiming extended drain intervals. The 5,000 mile oil is simply a fossil oil with some synthetic added to stretch its life to 5,000 miles.

The next was a 7,500 mile oil, which was still mostly fossil oil, but with more synthetic stocks added to stretch it to 7,500 miles.

Then they came out with a 15,000 mile oil; still using a fossil oil base, but with more synthetic stocks, to stretch its life to 15,000 miles. They called this oil "synthetic." But it's not. It's a "para-synthetic (partial synthetic).

They still haven't been able to approach the performance of AmsOil's real synthetic, which has given customers 25,000 miles per oil change since its inception. This company still can't approach AmsOil in performance or quality, yet they claim they are "making oil that changed oil." Preposterous!

NO "DRY STARTS"

They can't even match AmsOil's prices. They charge as much per quart for their 15,000 mile oil as AmsOil does for their full sunthetic, which not only gives you 25,000 miles, but NO "dry starts," ever. (synthetics "cling" to the parts when you shut off the engine, while fossil oils simply drop into the oil pan leaving your parts with no lubrication for a split second every thime you start your car) a national average of 10% fuel savings (less friction), smoother and cooler running (less friction), meaning less engine wear, thus, fewer visits to the mechanic.

"SUMMER-LIKE STARTS" IN THE DEAD OF WINTER

One of the things I like the most about AmsOil is that it will give you "summer-like starts" in the dead of winter. The Nazis wanted to overcome the problems of tanks freezing up on the Russian front, while guns, trucks, and other equipment did also. Synthetic oils were originally engineered for cold-weather use. But it was discovered that they did a lot more than allow operation down to 60 below zero and above 400 degrees.

SUPERIOR FRICTION REDUCER

They are a superior friction reducer, which means metal parts rubbing together don't cause as much friction and heat. With fossil oils, just starting your car causes more wear than does driving it all day, thus shortening your engine's life. Your engine runs cooler, smoother, and lasts longer, while you have 35 fewer quarts of used oil to dispose of in 25,000 miles, thus helping the environment.

REDUCE OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL

One of the biggest problems in the world now is our dependence on foreign oil, meaning our gasoline (and later oil) prices are going to continue to rise, rise, rise, as long as we are dependent on the oil we showed the Arabs how to pull out of the ground. One way to eliminate that dependence is to get 20% or more drivers around the world using synthetic oil. This will scare the bejeezuz out of OPEC, and they will stop limiting production to make prices go higher. If you want to know more, write me at P.O. Box 16247, Denver, CO 80216 or call me at 720-351-3674. Or you can check out my web site at www.lubedealers.com/thomas.html.

Your Engine's Worst Enemy: Friction

Copyright © By Ray Thomas

When you rub two pieces of metal against one another they resist it and heat is generated. Keep it up and accellerated wear results. When this friction happens in your engine it speeds up the wear factor and shortens your engine's life. Conventional oils are just barely able to handle this in today's engines, especially in those "four-bangers" designed to operate at a higher temperature than before. This adds wear to your engine.

Remember the ad for an oil additive where the announcer says, "You are about to hear the worst thing you can do to your engine?" Then you hear the sound of a car's engine starting. And this ad is merely for an oil additive using synthetic ingredients. This is because with conventional (fossil) oils, the oil drops to the bottom of the pan when the engine stops, meaning that first "split second" after you start your engine, you're running "metal-to-metal" with no oil between as a "cushion. Synthetic oils cling to the parts when the engine stops, leaving a thin film of lubrication so there are NO "dry starts." This alone stretches out the life of your engine, to your financial advantage.

Automotive lubricants really never advanced beyond the original formulations (except for certain additives) until Al Amatuzio, a jet pilot, observed that his jet engines used a different, better kind of lubrication than that ised in his car. It could operate at higher OR lower temperatures than conventional lubricants while causing a lot less heat. What's more, the lubricants used in his jet plane seemed to last forever.

JETS AND ROCKETS USED IT

The same was true in aerospace. They just could not operate in outer space using conventional lubricants because of the extremes of high and low temperatures they encountered. The only kind of lubricant they could use was synthetic, which could be manufactured to whatever specificatons you wanted. Then only obstacle was cost. Some of the lubricants used in outer space cost as much as thousands of dollars an ounce.

He decided he could design a synthetic lubricant for automotive use at a cost people could afford, that would be a lot better than any conventional oil, not only save them money on the cost of the oil itself (because it lasted 25,000 miles, meaning they only had to buy four or five quarts and two filters in 25,000 miles rather than 40 quarts and eight filters), but on the overall cost of driving their car.

He was successful, and "breakthrough product" was born, obsoleting the entire conventional oil industry. AmsOil was the first successful synthetic lubricant to hit the automatic market about 30 years ago, and conventional oil makers were scared to death. They actually lied to the public about it, hoping to frighten customers away from it. One even came out right away with their own synthetic oil that actually cost more, was good only for 15,000 miles, and was not compatible with conventional oils, so you had to clean out your entire system to use it. They've since reformulated it, but aside from now being compatible with conventional oils, it's no better than it was.

THIRTY YEAR HEADSTART

Al's synthetic oil was supremely successful, creating a market for the "average Joe," since it wasn't sold in stores, but by individuals who could form their own marketing teams without having to buy thousands of dollars in inventory to fill up their garage. Al wasn't the first, but he was the first successful manufacturer and marketer of synthetic lubricants, not only for automobiles, but for other applications, as well (I use AmsOil grease on the runners for my automatic garage opener, and it stopped the garage door from getting stuck in very cold weather). Hitler was trying to develop a synthetic lubricant during WWII because on the Russian front his guns froze up and his tanks wouldn't run. Had he been successful we'd all be speaking German right now.

A "BREAKTHROUGH PRODUCT"

The result is a lubricant that is a "breakthrough product" that will make conventional oils obsolete once the world "tumbles" to its superiority over conventional oils in cost and performance. This is a product much like the automobile itself, which obsoleted many industries, including the buggy whip industry. Now everybody has a synthetic oil in their line, usually at higher prices and which are mostly less effective, since AmsOil has more than thirty years headstart in research and development.

"SUMMER-LIKE STARTS" DOWN TO 60 BELOW

With synthetic lubricants you can start your car on the coldest day of winter just about anywhere because it doesn't "gum up" like conventional oils do at any temperature below zero. Not only that, since the oil "clings" to the parts there'll never be that split second of "dry running" you get with conventional oils. That makes it a lot easier on your battery and starter because neither are working as hard to start your car. This alone is worth changing over.

SAVES GAS

With significantly lower friction synthetic oil is "super slippery", causing a RPM increase of about 200 RPM as soon as you put it in. Race drivers like Mark Martin, Al Unser Jr. and Sr., and a number of others whose names you would recognize just take advantage of the extra RPM to go faster and the oil to make their engines last longer. The average driver just "idles it back" to the original RPM and saves about 10% in gas mileage. That's a lot of money saved these days.

FEWER SHOP VISITS AND LONGER ENGINE LIFE

With your engine not working as hard, it runs cooler. You break down less often, and the engine itslelf lasts longer, saving you a lot of cash. Furthermore, with your engine running cooler, there are no more vapor locks on hot days.

MAINTAINS VISCOSITY (THICKNESS)

Conventional oils "thin out," losing their viscosity (thickness) when they warm up. Synthetifc oils do not "shear back" and maintain their design thickness throughout.

CLEANER RUNNING

It runs a lot cleaner than conventional oils as a natural part of the way it was made. The cleaning additives last longer, allowing you to go 25,000 miles between oil changes without voiding your warranty since it not only meets, but exceeds government and warranty requirements.

REDUCE OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL

America is the biggest importer of Saudi and other fossil oils in the world. Why should we continue to buy billions of dollars in oil from people who hate us and have no interest in reducing its cost? We taught them how to bring it up in the first place, but they count that as "interference" and raise the price some more. What would happen if a significant number of people all over the world (not just in America) switched to synthetic oils, thereby reducing the amount of conventional oil purchased by 1/10th the amount we now use? Their prices would soon go down because they need that oil money we helped them to obtain. Then the cost of gasoline would drop like a stone (But we'll have probably come up with a synthetic gasoline by that time).

HELP THE ENVIRONMENT

Since you only have to use four or five quarts vs. 40 or more quarts, plus two filters vs. eight with conventional oil intervals, that means you spend a lot less money and have to dispose of a lot less used oil, which usually works its way into the environment. This helps the environment because there's less synthetic oil to be disposed of.

Whatever kind of synthetic oil you use, you're going to benefit and so is the entire country. AmsOil is the best because they were the original manufacturers and marketers of synthetic lubricants to the automotive market and still maintain that thirty-year headstart.
